B.A.S.S. is the anchor and vessel to who I have become today. Love, passion, excitement, joy, family has been the driving force that keeps me going. It has been the foundation for all my light to shine through, and continue shining. I’m a singer/songwriter and I instantly had my own platform in which to share my creations. B.A.S.S. has given the opportunity for us to grow together, share together and be together, simultaneously celebrating the achievements of Blacks and Africans who shine in this world. As they shine they inspire others to shine as well. The beginning of B.A.S.S. didn’t only start in November 2019 when we had decided to put on our first ever event ‘Afro Renaissance’, it started a long time ago, when a team of individuals, decided that life is beautiful and there was more to it than what we see on the surface, on a daily basis. It’s about connection, trust, gratitude, looking out for one another and creating a space within ourselves, that allows others to be themselves, love themselves and become a better version of who they were yesterday.
B.A.S.S. continues to grow everyday, every month, steadily, due to the love, time and commitment the team and our family put into our space, during meetings, rehearsals, gatherings and on our own. Sharing our cultures with one another through music, presentations, spoken word, poetry, art, fashion, food and through all different kinds of love is what enlightens me each and every time. I’m looking forward to the years to come, to meeting more talented people, creating connections and giving more love to my Black and African people in this world.
This has been one of the best experiences of my life, and it’s only the beginning.
